25% Fare Increase Coming

Due to unprecedented budget shortfalls NJ Transit has proposed a 25% fare increase across the board, elimination of the off peak round trip discount, and a myriad of service cuts.

The budget issue is beyond NJ Transit's control now - it is in the hands of the politicians that continue to give them (and us) short shrift. We MUST make clear that we, their constituents, will not sit idly by while our travel costs rise 25% while the cost to drivers doesn't rise a CENT. Write your elected officials (click here for a list of contact information) or show up at one of NJT's public hearings (more information here) and MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!

Schedule Alert

The upcoming January 17th 2010 Morristown Line schedule cuts midday trains 648 and 623 (renumbered 348 and 323) back to Summit station in order to accommodate track work at Madison station. Unfortunately for Mount Tabor passengers, this opens up two schedule gaps (there is now no westbound arrival between 11:15 AM and 2:02 PM and no eastbound departure between 12:48 PM and 4:10 PM), as no compensatory stops have been added on earlier or later trains.

If these changes inconvenience you, we strongly encourage you lodge a complaint with NJ Transit, either by phone at (973) 275-5555 or on NJ Transit's website
